Glasgow Travel Guide

The largest and the third most populous city in Scotland, Glasgow is located on the River Clyde. The University of Glasgow led to the enlightenment of the entire race. The city flourished during 18th century when it started trading with America. The industrial revolution made Glasgow one of the prominent centres for shipbuilding and engineering. During the Victorian era, Glasgow was called as the second city of the British Empire. Glasgow is a leading business centre for Europe in the present century. Leading Scotland businesses have Glasgow as their main centre.

In Glasgow, climate is mild most of the year. Unlike the other British countries, Glasgow benefits from its south western position. The months from March to May are cool and colorful in spring. From May to September, it is summer time in Glasgow and you may experience wet or warm climate. July is the best warm month in Glasgow if you are planning for a summer vacation.

You can witness Victorian architecture in Glasgow. The main university building and museum are worth taking a look when you are in Glasgow. Glasgow is a wealthy city and this is clearly shown by the excellent construction of the buildings in the city. The city centre has a number of theatres for entertainment and several shopping centres to cater to the needs of the local people. The commonwealth games in 2014 are proposed to be hosted by Glasgow. The city is well connected in terms of roadways, railways, and airways. Several ferry trips are also organized to connect the vast coastal area of the city.
